Impressive Afriyie Acquah sees full-time action on Empoli debut

Afriyie Acquah had just one training session with squad

Afriyie Acquah put in an impressive showcase on his Empoli debut as the Blues secured a 2-0 win against Cagliari at home Sunday night in their first match of the Serie A campaign.

Acquah was named in the starting lineup despite having just one training session with the team he joined on transfer deadline day.

But the 26-year-old adjusted well and made his wealth of Serie A experience count.

He bossed the right side of the midfield as goals from Rade Krunic and Francesco Caputo sealed the win.

Acquah has previously played for Palermo, Parma, Sampdoria and Torino in the Italian top-flight.
